Indication Dosage

Bismuth subsalicylate is a type of medication used for several indications, including:

  1. Diarrhea: Bismuth subsalicylate works as an antidiarrheal, by reducing fluid loss and helping to regulate bowel movements.
  2. Indigestion: Bismuth subsalicylate is sometimes used as an antacid to neutralize excess stomach acid and relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, and sour stomach.
  3. Nausea and Vomiting: Bismuth subsalicylate is sometimes used as a treatment for nausea and vomiting, as it can help soothe the stomach and reduce symptoms.
  4. Traveler's Diarrhea: Bismuth subsalicylate is sometimes used as a preventive measure for traveler's diarrhea, as it can help reduce the risk of infection and regulate bowel movements.
  5. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection: Bismuth subsalicylate is sometimes used as part of combination therapy for the treatment of H. pylori infection.

Dosage: 

  • Adults: 2 Tab Or 2 Tablespoonful. 
  • Children 3-6 Yr: 1 Tsp; 6-9 yr: 2 Tsp; 9-12 Yr: 1 Tab Or 1 Tablespoonful; 
  • Above 12 Yr: Same As Adult. 
  • The Dosage May Be Repeated 1/2-1 Hr, If Needed To, Up To Max 8 Doses In 24 Hr.
