Drugs For Constipation

Indication Dosage

Tegaserod is a type of medication used for several indications, including:

  • Constipation: Tegaserod is used to treat chronic constipation in adults, by promoting bowel movements and increasing the frequency of bowel movements.
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C): Tegaserod is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in women, by improving symptoms such as abdominal pain and discomfort, bloating, and infrequent bowel movements.

Dosage:

  • Adults: 6 Mg Twice Daily Prior To A Meal For 12 Wk. 
  • Children: Not Recommended.

  • Tab 2mg /6mg: Tegaserod 2mg /6mg.

  • Gi Serotonin Receptor Agonist (gi-sra)

Contra Indications

  • Hypersensitivity To Tegaserod.

Precautions

  • Hypersensitivity To Tegaserod.

Lactation

  • Contraindicated or Not Recommended.
