Indication Dosage

Paroxetine is a medication that is commonly used to treat conditions related to mood and emotions. It's often prescribed to help with:

  • Depression: Paroxetine can be used to alleviate the symptoms of depression, such as persistent sadness, lack of energy, and changes in appetite and sleep patterns.
  • Anxiety Disorders: It is also effective in managing various anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder. It helps reduce excessive worry and anxiety.
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Paroxetine can be prescribed for people with OCD, a condition characterized by repetitive, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and compulsive behaviors.
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): It may be used to relieve symptoms in individuals who have experienced traumatic events and are struggling with flashbacks, nightmares, and intense anxiety.
  • Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD): In some cases, Paroxetine can be helpful in managing severe premenstrual symptoms, such as mood swings, irritability, and physical discomfort.

Major Depression, Social Anxiety Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder,
Generalized Anxiety Disorder: 

  • Adult: 20 Mg Daily In The Morning; Maximum50 Mg Per Day 

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: 

  • Adult: Initially 20 Mg Daily In The Morning, Increased In Steps Of 10 Mg, Dose To Be Increased Gradually, Increased To 40 Mg Daily; Maximum 60 Mg Per Day 
  • Elderly: Initially 20 Mg Daily In The Morning, Increased In Steps Of 10 Mg; Maximum 40 Mg Per Day 

Panic Disorder: 

  • Adult: Initially 10 Mg Daily In The Morning, Increased In Steps Of 10 Mg, Dose To Be Increased Gradually, Increased To 40 Mg Daily; Maximum60 Mg Per Day 
  • Elderly: Initially 10 Mg Daily In The Morning, Increased In Steps Of 10 Mg; Maximum 40 Mg Per Day
