Anti-thrombotic Agents

Indication Dosage

Rivaroxaban is a medication used to prevent blood clots. It's prescribed to people at risk of clotting due to conditions like atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat), deep vein thrombosis (clots in the legs), or pulmonary embolism (clots in the lungs). It helps keep your blood flowing smoothly to reduce the chances of dangerous clots forming in your body.

Prophylaxis Of Venous Thromboembolism Following Knee Or Hip Replacement Surgery: 

  • Adult: 10 Mg Once Daily, 6-10 Hours After Surgery, For 2 Weeks. 

Initial Treatment Of Deep-vein Thrombosis And Pulmonary Embolism: 

  • Adult: Initially 15 Mg Twice Daily For 21 Days, To Be Taken With Food Continued Treatment Of Deep-vein Thrombosis And Pulmonary 

Embolism: 

  • Adult: 20 Mg Once Daily, To Be Taken With Food 

Prophylaxis Of Stroke And Systemic Embolism In Patients With Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation And With At Least One Of The Following Risk Factors: Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertension, Previous Stroke Or Transient Ischaemic Attack, Age 75 Years, Or Diabetes Mellitus: 

  • Adult: 20 Mg Once Daily, To Be Taken With Food 

Prophylaxis Of Atherothrombotic Events Following An Acute Coronary Syndrome With Elevated Cardiac Biomarkers: 

  • Adult: 2.5 Mg Twice Daily(in Combination With Aspirin Alone Or Aspirin And Clopidogrel)for 1 Yr.

  • Creatinine Clearance <15 Ml/min, Active Bleeding, In Acute Coronary Syndrome, Previous Or Transient Stroke, Malignant Neoplasms, Oesophageal Varices, Recent Brain, Ophthalmic, Orspinesurgery, Gi Ulcer, Intracranial Haemorrhage, Significant Risk Of Major Bleeding, Vascular Aneurysm
