Blood Glucose Lowering Drugs, Excluding Insulin

Indication Dosage

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus As Monotherapy Or In Combination With Metformin Or Sulfonylurea, Or Pioglitazone (duel Therapy), And Also In Combination With Both Metformin And A Sulfonylurea (triple Therapy) To Achieve Adequate Glycaemic Control: 

  • Adults: 5 Mg Once Daily. 

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus In Combination With Insulin (with Or Without Metformin) When Insulin Alone Fails To Provide Adequate Glycaemic Control: 

  • Adults: 5 Mg Once Daily. The dose Of Concomitant Sulfonylurea Or Insulin May Need To Be Reduced. 
  • Children: Below 18 Yr, Not Recommended.

Contra Indications

  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Renal Impairment, Congestive Heart Failure, Severe Hepatic Impairment.
